Our latest report, Cross-Market Integration of Biodiversity Outcomes into More Mature Financial Instruments, argues for a more resilient and comprehensive approach to financing nature restoration initiatives.
The world is facing an accelerating biodiversity crisis with profound environmental, social and economic consequences. According to UNEP, current financial flows from public budgets, international development assistance, private investments and innovative financing mechanisms fall approximately USD 700-900 billion short each year of what is required to meet global biodiversity conservation and restoration targets by 2030.
Prepared by PRF in collaboration with Nature Development Company and Upstream Partners, the report maps the current biodiversity finance landscape and highlights the need for more integrated, scalable and mature financial instruments that can unlock significantly greater investment into nature restoration.
